Spencer Associates is a professional corporation, located in Palo Alto, California, which has been recognized for our service and design excellence for more than eight decades. Founded in 1927 by Edridge T. Spencer, our practice is focused on the desire to shape the built environment for people’s use and enjoyment while protecting and preserving the beauty and substance of nature as a resource for the future.

We are a general architectural practice with substantial experience in the areas of educational, civic, institutional, and recreational design. We have accomplished educational projects for universities and secondary schools, civic facilities for municipalities throughout the Bay Area, museums and visitor centers for state and federal clients throughout the country, and recreational projects for local, state, and national parks.

Spencer Associates offers basic architectural services including programming, master planning, architecture, interior design, and interpretive design. In addition, we utilize the services of consultants with whom we have established long term working relationships, including landscape architects, civil engineers, structural engineers, mechanical engineers, and electrical engineers, to provide comprehensive architectural services.
